AgrA2 Quorum Sensing Transcription Factor; C. difficile
Quorum sensing transcription factor from C. difficile. It is a member of the two-component detection system, adapted from C. difficile, that binds and gets phosphorylated by AgrC2 in response to interaction with the Autoinducing peptide (AIP). The released and phosphorylated AgrA2 dimerizes with itself and becomes active. Upon activation, it binds to AgrPromoter (BBa_K3183003) which results in upregulation of transcription.1 This gene is located in C. difficile CD196 genome.
