T7_RBS
Fudan iGEM 2023
This is an efficient ribosome binding site for constitutive protein translation, from bacteriophage T7 gene 10 [1][2]. We have used it in 2022 as the RBS that drives intermediate-level protein expression. Using T7_RBS gives us an option to switch to a weaker J6_RBS BBa_J61100 or a stronger B0_RBS BBa_B0030, which have been successfully demonstrated last year BBa_K4162117 and BBa_K4162118. We continue this strategy in 2023.
Introduction
T7 ribosome binding site (RBS) was discovered from the T7 phage genome, commonly used to drive protein expression in bacteria.
