Part:BBa_K363009
Mid1, votage and stretch gated calcium channel from S. cerevisiae
This is a calcium-permiable stretch and voltage activated calcium channel present in both the ER and plasma membrane of the baker's yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. This channel is activated by external voltage or stretch. It is known to interact with the gene Cch1, Part:BBa_K363008.
This gene, complete with sequence, is the wild-type version of the parts BBa_K222002 and BBa_K222003, submitted by Team Valencia without a sequence.
Usage and Biology
This wild-type part was used in experiments characterizing in in concert with a transcriptional activator by the Johns Hopkins Team in 2010 here.
This part was also used to characterize the behavior of the fluorescent enzyme aequorin by the Valencia Team in 2009 here.
