Part:BBa_K363008
Cch1, voltage gated calcium channel from S. cerevisiae
This gene codes for the Cch1 protein from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It codes for a high affinity voltage gated calcium channel. In vivo, this channel responds to mating pheromones, hypertonic stress, various forms of ER stress (such as accumulation of misfolded proteins), amiodarone treatment, high pH, high iron, and externally applied electric fields.
This gene, complete with sequence, is the wild-type version of the parts BBa_K222004, submitted by Team Valencia without a sequence.
Usage and Biology
This wild-type part was used in experiments characterizing in in concert with a transcriptional activator by the Johns Hopkins Team in 2010 here.
This part was also used to characterize the behavior of the fluorescent enzyme aequorin by the Valencia Team in 2009 here.
