This composite part is the fusion device of the Biobrick parts BBa_K1033001 and BBa_K1033000 by the iGEM Team Uppsala 2013. Under a promotor, it is able to produce 4-coumaroyl-CoA from tyrosine.

The iGEM Team TU Darmstadt 2014 used the previously announced Biobricks to assemble this part and verified the function of the part in their naringenin operon BBa_K1497007.


Figure 1 Reaktion chart of this part. The tyrosine ammonia lyase catalyze the reaction from tyrosine to 4-coumaroyl acid. This product is used by the 4-coumaroyl-CoA synthase to build the 4-coumaroyl-CoA.
