ftsE

The protein encoded by the ftsE gene is a crucial cell division protein, FtsE. The FtsE protein plays a vital role in the process of cell division. It serves as a component of the divisome, responsible for coordinating the activities of various proteins during bacterial cell division to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the division process. During cell division, the FtsE protein is recruited to the future site of cell division, known as the septal ring. Here, it assembles with other cell division proteins to form the divisome, which carries out the complex process of cell division.
