V5 epitope tag head domain (GKPIPNPLLGLDST)

This is a V5 epitope tag head domain designed to be at the N-terminus of a protein. V5 tags are a type of epitope tag that can be used to measure the quantity of proteins.

Usage and Biology

The V5 epitope tag is derived from amino acid residues 95-108, GKPIPNPLLGLDST, of RNA polymerase alpha subunit of simian virus 5. The V5 epitope tag is commonly added to proteins so that the tagged protein can be analyzed and visualized using immunochemical methods. Monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies to the V5 epitope tag are commercially available.

The V5 epitope tag can be used on the N- or C-terminus of proteins.
