E. coli strain YYC912; Odor-free chassis

Escherichia coli strain [http://cgsc2.biology.yale.edu/Strain.php?ID=64826 YYC912]. Biosafety level 1 organism derived from Escherichia coli K12.

BBa_J45999 has a mutation in the tnaA gene which encodes a tryptophanase which converts tryptophan to indole. Indole is responsible for the foul stench of E. coli so tnaA mutants can have reduced indole levels and thus reduced foul odor.
