Light chain-heavy chain ferritin dimer with Histag 6X

Ferritin is an enzyme that captures iron ions in blood. It has been found that SDS molecules can bind between ferritin subunits. Although it's not the main function of this enzyme, team [http://2015.igem.org/Team:TecCEM_HS TecCEM_HS 2015] uses this enzyme to capture SDS molecules solution. This biobrick was based on a similar design from iGEM [http://2013.igem.org/Team:Calgary Team Calgary 2013].

Results

iGEM Groningen 2015 did an experiment with this construct to confirm it's expression. In the picture below is the expression of the protein visible. When comparing the bands in the control and the IPTG induction groups, a clear expression of a protein the size of ferritin can be observed.
