XRE - Xenobiotic Response Element
XRE is Xenobiotic Response Element found in eukaryotic cell upstream of inducible target genes for the transcription factor aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) BBa_K3793004 which is responsible for signal transduction of pollutants (1) (2). XRE was used in our reporter module to drive the expression of NanoLuc under the presence of PAHs or PCB BBa_K5477030. This reporter module is combined with the AhR receptor modules and therefore comprises our biosensor systems to detect PAHs and PCBs BBa_K5477041 and BBa_K5477042 .
