PS

pinene synthase (PtPS) is a heterogenous gene from Pinus taeda that can convert GPP into pinene. PS contains n-terminal transport peptides in the native host and is responsible for targeting translation products to plastid, however this function is not required in yeast, and the N-terminal transport peptide might cause erring location of the enzyme, decrease in solubility or wrongful folding of the enzyme and affect the efficiency in yeasts, so the N-terminal of PtPS is truncated to form tPtPS
