VSV-G epitope tag special internal domain (YTDIEMNRLGK)

This is a VSV-G epitope tag special internal domain designed to be used between protein domains. VSV-G tags are a type of epitope tag that can be used to measure the quantity of proteins.

Usage and Biology

The VSV-G epitope tag is derived from the C-terminal residues of vesicular stomatitis virus glycoprotein (VSV-G). Proteins can be purified or quantitatively analyzed using a monoclonal antibody to the VSV-G tag. Elution from the antibody occurs at low pH.

The VSV-G is probably best used at the C-terminus of a protein of interest, but has also been used internally Battini.
