Design Notes

This biobrick includes the enzyme ammonia monooxygenase (AMO), which performs first step of the nitrification pathway and converts ammonia into hydroxylamine. The gene is taken from Nitrosomonas europaea. Use this part on its own to produce hydroxylamine, or use with BBa_K1067004 (hydroxylamine oxidoreductase) and BBa_K1067002 (cytochromes associated with hydroxylamine oxidoreductase) to complete the nitrification pathway. BBa_K1067005 includes all three components on one plasmid.
