iGEM Team Braunschweig 2013 used this device for the contruction of BBa_K1073035. It was used in order to induce growth in the presence of RhlR and N-buturyl-HSL in ampicillin containing media.

This device was successfully employed in BBa_K1073035 to mediate ampicillin resistance in the presence of RhlR and N-buturyl-HSL. Due to a low level leakiness of the promoter and the bacteriostatic properties of ampicillin, the cells will start to grow in batch cultivations when a low level of ampicillin is reached even whithout N-buturyl-HSL.
