T7 Phenylalanine ammonia lyase 2

This phenylalanine ammonia lyase 2 enzyme (AtPAL2) from Arabidopsis thaliana catalyzes the reaction of L-phenylalanine to trans-cinnamic acid and ammonia. The enzyme is used by the 2018 Groningen team in a synthetic styrene production pathway. Characterization of the enzyme was done by measuring trans-cinnamic acid production. Detailed characterization data is available on the page of the parent part BBa K2783010.
