sass transcribes the enzyme necessary for santalol production

Usage

When the sass gene is attached to the back of the pTEF1(BBa_K4616002) promoter, in the absence of blue light, the mRNA transcribed by this gene will not be unable to express due to the yieldation of complementary structures, so the enzyme necessary for the synthesis of santalol will be translated.

Biology

Misra et al. reported that all tissues (including callus, germ, seed, old tree and young tree) of S.album contain SaSS enzyme. The extracted protein can catalyze the synthesis of products by FPP in vitro experiments, consistent with the primary components of essential oil. Subsequently, the SasS gene was cloned from S.album, S.Alstrocaledonicum and S.picatum. Sequence determination, heterologous expression, and functional verification were carried out.
