LuxO gene codes a downstream phosphorylated protein of LuxU. The expression level of LuxO will cause different inhibition levels of the downstream promotor tpQrr and thus build a final relation between the phosphorylation level of cascading protein with the expression level of the downstream gene controlled by inducing promotor tpQrr.
