the detector protein of vibrio cholerae quorum sensing signal CAI-1
CqsS gene codes a transmembrane receptor that will detect the concentration of CAI-1 in the cell outer environment. The expression level of CqsS will cause different phosphorylation levels of LuxU, which is a downstream protein in the cascading system.
