CF3BD
3-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase (CF3BD, PDB ID: 5YSS) is a cyclase that catalyzes the cyclization of 5-aminovalerate (5-AVA) to valerolactam. This sequence here is the wild type sequence from Yeom et al. (2018). Its optimal reaction temperature is 40º and does not require any energy source/cofactors.(Gordillo Sierra & Alper, 2020) Our team has performed point mutation modeling on this enzyme to improve its efficiency. Further characterization will be done in the second phase of our project.
