NSI
This is Neutral Site I (NSI) of S.elongatus UTEX 2973. Neutral sites are sites in the chromosome commonly used as sites for gene manipulation in S.elongatus as disrupting these sites does not cause discernible phenotype(Rosato, 2010).
Our team is creating a crRNA targeting NSI for CRISPR technology to edit the genome of S.elongatus 2973.
