TXO MerR regulated construct under BBa_K3380107 promoter expressing iSpinach

Fluorescent RNA aptamer construct flanked by F30 tRNA scaffolds to protect it from degradation. Its transcription is repressed by the MerR transcription factor. Upon addition of Mercury, the promoter allows the native polymerase to transcribe the construct, resulting in green fluorescence if the DFHBI fluorophore is added.

Usage and Biology

Can be used in cell-free extracts as a biosensor.
