Part:BBa_K3259005
composite part for Turing Pattern controlled by temperature
This part was assembled based on a paper (1) on the replication of Turing patterns by synthetic biology. In the formation of Turing pattern, substances called activators and inhibitors play a major role.
In this circuit, LasI and RhlI which works as activator and inhibitor respectively are both controlled by pLas-OR. PAI2 produced by LasI gene promotes the expression of both LasI and RhlI by binding to LasR. This makes PAI1 to be function as an activator for this Turing circuit. Conversely, RhlI produces PAI2 and binds to RhlR to promote the expression of CI. This results in suppression of RhlI and LasI expression, therefore PAI2 works as an inhibitor in this Turing pattern circuit. Turing pattern is generated by this gene circuit by the interaction between these two substances, namely PAI1 and PAI2.
Furthermore, since BBa_K3259001 part is also included into this gene circuit, it is expected that the pattern can be controlled by changes in temperature.
