bphD protein from Pseudomonas furukawaii
Pseudomonas furukawaii was found to degrade lightly chlorinated PCB via a mutated version of biphenyl pathway. Codon optimized to express in yeast.
Usage and Biology
Us, iGEM Chalmers Gothenburg, planned to engineer the following pathway to degrade a large spectrum of PCBs. A detailed pathway is shown in the diagram. This biobrick is a component of this pathway optimized to be expressed in yeast.
BphD: 2-hydroxy-6-oxo-6-phenylhexa-2,4-dienoate hydrolase
