Microglia specific promoter pF4/80

EGF-like module-containing mucin-like hormone receptor-like 1 also known as F4/80 is a protein encoded by the ADGRE1 gene. The gene is highly expressed in macrophage cells. The combination between pF4/80 and recombinant adeno-associated viruses (rAAV) with capsid variant 6 (AAV6), that has high tropism for monocytes, leads to specifically microglia cells targeting.

Usage and Biology

EGF-like module-containing mucin-like hormone receptor-like 1 also known as F4/80 is a protein encoded by the ADGRE1 gene.

We will express Cas9 enzyme with this promoter in order to edit microglia cells genome, for the knockout of IKKβ gene.
