Amide synthetase from Coumermycin A1 biosynthesis

CouL is a amide synthetase. In aminocoumarin antibiotics the bonding of the amide bonds linking the 3-amino-4,7-dihydroxycoumarin moiety and related acyl moieties are formed by amide synthetases. The different amide synthetases NovL, CloL, CouL and SimL differ by their substrate specificity but catalyze the same reaction.
