Express mCherry-alpha-tubulin fusion protein

This part can express mCherry RFP marked α-tubulin with the chasis S.cerevisiae.

mCherry is a monomeric fluorescent construct with peak excitation/emission at 587 nm/610 nm, respectively. It is resistant to photobleaching and is stable. It matures quickly, with a t0.5 of 15 minutes, allowing it to be visualised soon after translation.

α- and β-tubulins polymerize into microtubules, a major component of the eukaryotic cytoskeleton. Microtubules function in many essential cellular processes, including mitosis.
