rubB (rubredoxin reductase)

rubB makes rubredoxin reductase, which catalyzes the conversion of reduced rubredoxin to oxidized rubredoxin. It is a critical component of the first step of the alkane degradation process:

alkane + reduced rubredoxin + O2 ==> 1-alkanol + oxidized rubredoxin + H2O
