LasR/PAI complex sensor

This composite part was designed for use as a sensor in E. coli for the complex made up of LasR bound to Pseudomonas Autoinducer. The promoter originally comes from Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a gram-negative bacterium that is also an opportunistic human pathogen. The LasR and promoter activity is generally associated with quorum sensing in P. aeruginosa, but additional transcription factors are necessary for the quorum sensing effect to occur. This sensor was created in conjunction with BBa_M36575, a LasR coding gene in order to create E. coli that can detect the presence of P. aeruginosa through sensing the autoinducer that binds to LasR.

This part will be coupled with a GFP coding sequence for fluorescence expression.
