Copper Sensor --> PoPS
This device sends PoPs signals in response to the presence of copper. It consists of a strong constitutive promoter, a bicistronic RBS, copZ, another bicistronic RBS, copY, a transcription terminator, and cop promoter. The copY protein represses the cop promoter, but if copper attaches to copY, copY will release from the promoter, and PoPs will be produced. The copZ protein acts as a copper chaperone, transporting copper to copY attached to the cop promoter.
