Ligninase Coding Region

This coding region has been created from Cullen et al "Nucleotide sequence of a ligninase gene from Phanerochaete Chrysosporium." The sequence was modified so that all introns were removed and potential looping eliminated. Additionally, the amino acids have been chosen such that the tRNA ratios for e. coli has been optimized. Minimizing loops was done using Gene Designer and checking for tRNA in e.coli was accomplished using Optimizer. Everett Frost is a co-designer of BBa_M36188 and Greg Fucci from DNA 2.0 minimized changed amino acid sequences in order to make this part synthesize this part with DNA 2.0's technology.

The coding sequence is given seen here is not identical to the sequence given by Cullen et al. However, this sequence has been checked against the Blast database and been found to be highly homologous with Ligninase Peroxidase regions in other organisms.
