HY5 3 BS Promoter w/ Gemini, LacZ
Consists of promoter M36100, a ribosome binding site, the gene for gemini, and a transcriptional terminator. The promoter has three HY5 binding sites. When HY5 is present it may bind to the promoter, possibly preventing e. coli's DNA polymerase from binding, thus acting as a transcritional inhibitor. Depending on whether DNA polymerase can bind or not, transcription will ensue to produce gemini.
