{˂EILD˃}

This basic part codes for an alpha helix that is one coil of the coiled-coil structure of the KILR/EILD heterodimer. EILD is capable of forming homodimers. The competing states are the homodimer, unfolded, and aggregated states. When the two homodimers rearrange to form heterodimers, the free energy change is -8.7kcal/mol. The EILD is a designed protein that was made based on conformational free energy and potential energy functions. A use for the KILR/EILD heterodimer was not specified. Protein-protein interactions such as coiled-coils are crucial in signaling networks and multi-protein assembly.
