psbA2 promoter, 5'UTR, and RBS + Firefly Luciferase
The psbA2 promoter, 5'UTR, and RBS + Firefly Luciferase BioBrick represents a composite part. The psbA2 promoter, 5'UTR, and RBS portion is derived from regulatory BioBrick, BBa_K390017, which was designed by Cody Tramp of the 2010 Utah State Group. The firefly luciferase portion is derived from BBa_I712019, which was designed by Anja Korenčič of the 2007 Ljubljana Group. Firefly luciferase is luciferase from Photinus pyralis. By oxidation of substrate luciferin light is produced. Luciferase thus acts as a reporter protein when connected to other proteins or promoters. This part contains a Eukaryotic ribosome binding site and non-standard prefix and suffix.
