G-Segment Invertase
This is a coding sequence for the G-Segment invertase which contains a ribosomal bindings site (RBS) located upstream. Once expressed in E. coli, the invertase inverts gene segments that are flanked by gix-sites (Gin-recognition sites, oriented as inverted repeats) each at 5' and 3' end. If gix-sites are flanking gene segments as direct repeats, Gin-invertase causes a deletion of a gene segment.
