small RNA regulating ChiX
ChiXR originates from an intercistronic region of the chb operon in Salmonella and E. coli. The transcription of this operon is activated in the presence of the chitooligosaccharides as the genes included in this operon comprises for metabolism of these sugars. ChiXR destabilizes another regulatory small RNA called ChiX. It is doing that by invading the stem of ChiX transcription terminator hairpin.
