Middle Layer of the SugarFilm expression system aimed for cellulose degradation. Beta-glucosidase gene (bglX) from genome sequence of Gram negative bacterium Cytophaga hutchinsonii (iGEM08_Edinburgh) is under the regulation of micro-aerobic promoter vgb. The expression of tetR will repress Ptet, which is in the device for upper-layer expression in the biofilm.
