TEF1t terminator

  • The TEF1 terminator (TEF1t) is a downstream regulatory sequence of the TEF1 gene in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, responsible for terminating the transcription of the TEF1 gene. The TEF1 gene encodes elongation factor 1-alpha (EF-1伪), a key protein that assists in delivering aminoacyl-tRNA to the ribosome during translation. After mRNA transcription is completed, the TEF1t terminator ensures precise termination of transcription, prevents transcriptional read-through, and facilitates proper 3' end processing, enhancing mRNA stability and efficient translation.TEF1t is widely used in synthetic biology, particularly in yeast expression systems, where it is often paired with strong promoters to ensure efficient expression of foreign genes. It provides stable transcription termination signals for target genes, thereby enhancing the yield of the desired protein. Due to its robust performance and effectiveness under various metabolic conditions, TEF1t is considered an ideal terminator for optimizing gene expression systems.
