rtTA-DD Transactivator MammoBlock
This part encodes a protein that combines the rtTA transactivator with the DD destabilization domain. The DD domain causes attached proteins to be degraded extremely quickly in mammalian cells; however, the DD domain is stable in the presence of the SHIELD molecule, allowing for tunable protein expression. Because the rtTA transactivator is dependent upon doxycycline for activation, transactivation by rtTA-DD is unique among transactivators for the dynamic range of expression it can activate.
