Part:BBa_K4998043
bsrG toxin transcription unit
Usage and Biology
This composite part contains the bsrG mRNA region (BBa_K4998029), along with the PLtetO-1-tetR repressed promoter (BBa_K3332034) and the lambda T0 terminator (BBa_K4998029). bsrG is a 38-amino acid, toxic and hydrophobic peptide that leads to B. subtilis’ cell lysis. Naturally, it participates along with the SR4 RNA antitoxin in the Bacillus subtilis’ temperature-dependent toxin-antitoxin system. [1]
The bsrG mRNA sequence consists of 227 bases. An RBS starts from the base 50 and is a 4bp, double-stranded region (GGGG). The translation unit starts from the base 61 and it translates to the 38-amino acid toxin peptide. [1]
