Optimized AG4

AG4 is a synthetic 12-peptide that can specifically bind silver ions. We take advantage of the relatively small mass of the AG4 protein and its ability to adsorb silver ions. It is combined with the curly fiber backbone formed by the CsgA protein to form a CsgA-AG4 fusion protein curli fiber membrane.

AG4 serves as a protein with potential applications in adsorbing valuable silver ions from the environment (Seker and Demir, 2011).

Codon Optimization

We optimized the codons of AG4 to improve the expression efficiency in the target strain. Below is the DNA sequence change of AG4 by optimizing codons.

AG4 sequence before Codon-optimization:

    1 AACCCGAGCA
   11 GCCTGTTTCG
   21 CTATCTGCCG
   31 AGCGATTAA

AG4 sequence after Codon-optimization:

    1 AATCCGAGTA
   11 GTTTATTTCG
   21 CTATCTCCCG
   31 AGCGACTAA
