H1 transcribes shRNA, which is cleaved to produce siRNA and causes interference.
The H1 promoter is a type III RNA polymerase promoter that typically initiates transcription of short sequences. The H1 promoter initiates transcription to generate shRNA, which is then cleaved to produce mature siRNA, resulting in interference effects. In our designed plasmid, the H1 promoter is responsible for transcribing the shSTAT3 sequence, generating shSTAT3 targeting STAT3 mRNA, and silencing the STAT3 gene.
