RBS-hps
This part is a sequence containing the hps gene, which encodes 3-hexulose-6-phosphate synthase (HPS), an enzyme that catalyzes the reaction of formaldehyde and ribulose-5-phosphate (Ru5P) to form d-arabino-3-hexulose 6-phosphate (Hu6P). This is the key step of formaldehyde fixation in the ribulose monophosphate (RuMP) pathway, a metabolic pathway that is widespread in prokaryotes. HPS can be expressed in different organisms, enabling them to utilize and detoxify formaldehyde. This part can be used to construct formaldehyde metabolism and detoxification systems, or to synthesize hexose phosphate compounds.
