alkB1
alkB1 catalyzes the hydroxylation of n-alkanes(C5-C12), allowing oil degradation. This gene has prospective applications in bioremediation of petroleum contaminated waters. This sequence was obtained through codon optimization of the sequence of the alkB1 gene of Alcanivorax borkumensis.
