HA packaging sequence-5'

The 5’ part of the packaging sequence of Hemagglutinin of WSN

Usage and Biology

Hemagglutinin, often abbreviated as HA, is a crucial protein found on the surface of influenza viruses. The HA protein binds to sialic acid-containing receptors on the host cell surface and mediates the fusion of the viral envelope with the endosomal membrane after receptor-mediated endocytosis. HA packaging sequence is what regulates the amount of HA expressed on the surface of Influenza, and this is the 5’ part of the packaging signal.
