paraE-mCherry

This composite genetic construct is composed of three genetic elements: the paraE promoter (BBa_K4633006), its native ribosomal binding site (RBS) (BBa_K4633007), and the mCherry fluorescent protein (BBa_J06504).


Usage and Biology

This composite part was used by the 2023 Technion team to test the functionality and inducibility of the paraR promoter originating from the Bacillus subtilis 168 genome. This particular promoter was deliberately selected due to its compatibility with L-arabinose, a safe substance for human consumption, making it an ideal candidate for our proposed killswitch system.
