hsa-let-7a-2-5p _Target_13 (BBa_K4612113) is a 22 nucleotide single-stranded DNA sequence, a cDNA sequence derived from the reverse transcription of hsa-let-7a-2-5p. let-7a-2-5p is a member of the let-7 family and is involved in the regulation of non-small cell lung cancer. It suppresses tumor development by down-regulating the expression of NSCLC-associated genes[1], and it is also located in a common deletion region in NSCLC[2]. So the expression of hsa-let-7a-2-5p _Target_13 has a role in determining whether or not you have small cell lung cancer, and can be given weight. Figure 1 demonstrates the specific function of this element: it binds to the probe as a target, and then the polymerase undergoes a polymerase-mediated strand displacement reaction using it as a primer. The weighted strand that is displaced is then subjected to a subsequent reaction.
