TRDV3_Target_7
TRDV3_Target_7 (BBa_K4612106) is a single-stranded DNA sequence with 30 nucleotides. It is an intercepted part of the gene TRDV3 sequence that is guaranteed to be specific in humans. It was screened by machine learning as a target associated with bacterial infection and assigned a weight of "-1". TRDV3 is part of the γ/δ chain of the T-cell receptor (TCR), and it has been demonstrated that γδ T cells exhibit effective antiviral reactivity against several different viruses and elevated cell counts in HIV-, EBV- and CMV-infected patients [1]. Therefore, the expression of TRDV3 has a role in determining whether a viral infection is present or not, and can be given weight. Figure 1 demonstrates the specific function of this element: it is bound to the probe as a target, and then the polymerase undergoes a polymerase-mediated strand displacement reaction using it as a primer. The weighted strand is then subjected to a subsequent toe-mediated strand displacement reaction to produce a fluorescent report.
