Glutathione Peroxidase
St(r)epD (BBa_K4590005) has a 99% identity with a gene encoding for a glutathione peroxidase, acting as an antioxidant to counter the damage caused by free radicals in Streptomyces.
The hypothesis is that the peroxidase function is involved in self-resistance to the detoxification of free radicals caused by anthracyclines (Arteaga, 2015).
