Contents
Rosmarinic acid synthase(S. cerevisiae), RAS
This part encodes rosmarinic acid synthase from Plectranthus scutellarioides
Biology
The organism this gene is initially expressed in is P. scutellarioides
The plant leaves of P.scutellarioides contain high levels of rosmarinic acid. Rosmarinic acid synthase catalyzes the coupling of 4-coumaroyl-CoA and 4-HPL by releasing coenzyme A, synthesizing rosmarinic acid [1].
Usage
This enzyme is implemented in the synthesis pathway to produce rosmarinic acid in the S. cerevisiae culture. RAS converts caffeoyl CoA and salvianic acid A to produce rosmarinic acid by a condensation reaction[1]
