Arsenate Reductase Optimized for Chlamydomonas Reinhardtii
Arsenate reductase is an enzyme which plays an important role in arsenic detoxification in many organisms. An initial step in arsenic detoxification involves the reduction of arsenate (AsV) to arsenite (AsIII). Arsenate reductases catalyze this transformation of AsV to AsIII and have been found to be influential in arsenic detoxification in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
This part contains the sequence encoding the eukaryotic arsenate reductase from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It has been optimized for optimal transgene expression in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii through codon optimization and the insertion of introns.
